    PlayStation®Network

    New for 6.39: As a security measure, the following message might be displayed when you attempt to sign in to PlayStation®Network from a PSP™ system:

    Your password is no longer valid. Please sign in to PlayStation®Network on your PS3™ system, or from the following website if using a PC, and then change your password.

    If this message is displayed and you cannot sign in to PlayStation®Network, you must change the PlayStation®Network password for the master account and all sub-accounts.

    Changing your PlayStation®Network Network account password

    As a security measure, the following message might be displayed when you attempt to sign in to PlayStation®Network from a PSP™ system:

    Your password is no longer valid. Please sign in to PlayStation®Network on your PS3™ system, or from the following website if using a PC, and then change your password.

    If this message is displayed and you cannot sign in to PlayStation®Network, you must change the PlayStation®Network password for the master account and all sub-accounts.

    Caution

    • When you change your password, an e-mail message may be sent to the e-mail address registered with PlayStation®Network (your sign-in ID). If you cannot receive messages at your registered e-mail address, you will not be able to change your password.
    • If you cannot receive messages at the e-mail address you have registered as your sign-in ID, before changing your password, make sure you have an e-mail address where you can receive messages and then contact PlayStation® Consumer Support.
    • Depending on your country/region of residence and the network environment you are using, you may not be able to change your Sony Entertainment Network account password or make use of PlayStation®Network services for some time after updating your PS3™ system software.
    • The ability to change Sony Entertainment Network account passwords and use PlayStation®Network services* will be made available in all regions within a few days.

    * This does not include the use of PlayStation®Store.

    • [Update] has been added to the options menu for games. By selecting this option, you can connect your system to the Internet and check whether update data is available for the game in use. If update data is available, you can use this option to download and install the update data.
  • Network
    • [Memory Stick™] has been added as a save destination for content that is downloaded from PlayStation®Store.
    • A new category for "minigames" called [minis] was added under 2000 series (PlayStation®Store). You can go to this category under 2000 series (PlayStation®Store) to download (purchase) minigames that can be played simply and easily on your system.

    • 2000 series The Dial-up Networking (DUN) profile has been added as one of the supported Bluetooth® profiles.

  • PlayStation® Network
    • You can now access PlayStation®Store even if you do not have a Sony Entertainment Network account.
    • An option to sign in automatically is now available for PlayStation®Store. Select [Sign In Automatically (Auto Sign-In)] on the PlayStation®Store sign-in screen.
    • [Download All] has been added as an option for use when multiple items are purchased from PlayStation®Store.
    • Less free space is now required on Memory Stick Duo™ media when downloading games from PlayStation®Store. You can now use a full-size on-screen keyboard.

    • [Enable WMA Playback] has been added as a setting under [System Settings].
      • A connection to the Internet is required for the one-time activation of this setting. Note that no personal information is collected during the activation process. For details, refer to the user agreement that must be accepted as part of the activation process.
