Check for distinguishing aesthetic characteristics as described above. Or check the model number on the system. The PSP system model number is displayed inside the battery compartment. Remove the battery cover and look in the upper-right corner of the battery compartment for the letters "PSP" followed by a series of numbers. These letters and numbers are your unit's model number. System information is also printed on the front of the packaging your PSP system came in.
If you purchased a PSP system as part of the Limited Edition Ratchet Clank® PSP Entertainment Pack (Mystic Silver), the Limited Edition Ratchet Clank® PSP Entertainment Pack (Piano Black) or the PSP-3000 Core Pack, then you own a PSP-3000 system.
If you purchased a PSP system as part of the Daxter™ Entertainment Pack, Star Wars Battlefront® Entertainment Pack, God of War® Entertainment Pack, Madden NFL 09 Entertainment Pack or the PSP-2000 system Core Pack, then you own a PSP-2000 system.
If you purchased a PSP system as part of the ATV Offroad Fury Entertainment Pack, Giga Pack, Value Pack, or the PSP-1000 Core Pack, then you own a PSP-1000 system.

Features
The PSP-3000 system has several distinguishing aesthetic characteristics. Similar to the PSP-2000 system, the PSP-3000 system has:
- Speakers are located toward the top of the front faceplate.
- Wi-Fi switch is on the top of the system.
- Memory Stick Duo slot is on the top left side of the system.
- Video out jack is located on the bottom of the system, in a direct line down from the PS button.
- In addition, the PSP-3000 system Home button is now the PS button in the lower left hand corner.
- The PSP-3000 also has a microphone located to the left of the PSP logo at bottom of system.
