SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA WANTS YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE MUSIC OF VOODOO
PlayStation®2 Sponsors the Voodoo Music Experience With an All-Star Music Line-Up

FOSTER CITY, Calif., October 6, 2004 Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today its sponsorship of the Voodoo Music Experience 2004, a two-day festival that brings some of the most innovative and well-known musical acts spanning various genres including hip-hop and rock. The sponsorship of the Voodoo Music Experience kicks off the fall music season on a high note and at the same time caps off a successful summer of PlayStation 2™-sponsored tours including Ozzfest 2004 and the 2004 Vans Warped Tour. The Voodoo Music Experience takes place October 16 and 17 at City Park in New Orleans, with a line-up of musical legends and trendsetters including: the Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Velvet Revolver, Kid Rock, De La Soul, and many more.

This year marks the fifth year Sony Computer Entertainment America has sponsored the Voodoo Music Experience, and this year tour-goers can visit the PlayStation® Avalou Warehouse, which will serve to expand the variety of music choices available to people attending the concert. Fans who stop by the PlayStation Avalou Warehouse between 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. will experience the cutting edge sounds of bands including Juliette and the Licks. DJs Paul Van Dyk and Ferry Corsten will bring their unique DJ stylings to the mix and keep PlayStation fans dancing from 4 p.m. into the night until the event is over.

In addition to bringing Voodoo fans musical entertainment in the PlayStation Avalou Warehouse, Sony Computer Entertainment America is rounding off the experience with the latest software titles for the PlayStation 2™ computer entertainment system at the PlayStation Touring Attraction, a 68-foot custom-designed vehicle that will be on-hand during the two-day festival. Featured titles including: ATV Offroad Fury® 3, Jak 3, Gran Turismo4,
Ratchet and Clank®: Up Your Arsenal and God of War(ESRB ratings E-T). Voodoo Music Experience fans who stop by the PlayStation 2™ Touring Attraction can also enter to win various prizes including passes to two exclusive PlayStation viewing platforms.

"Coming off of a successful summer of music sponsorships, we feel that the Voodoo Music Experience offers fans a universally satisfying experience with trend setting and genre-defining artists that set the tone for the fall music season," said Sharon Shapiro, director, promotions, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Similarly, with PlayStation we created a truly breakthrough and revolutionary entertainment experience by providing content that drives trends, genres and sets the tone for the industry."

In addition to the entertainment options provided in the PlayStation Avalou Warehouse tent, PlayStation is giving fans the chance to experience all of this for free with VIP treatment. The PlayStation Fly Me to Voodoocontest asked consumers to submit an essay in 30 words or less on why they should win a trip to the Voodoo Music Experience. The top ten finalists' submissions were posted on http://www.voodoomusicfest.com and visitors to the site voted for their favorite essays. The three grand prizewinners have been selected and will receive airfare, hotel, limo and an all access pass to the show which includes entry to the two PlayStation viewing platforms in front of the two main stages.
