SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENTS CREATION OF MUSIC-BASED UMD DISC PLAYS WELL TO MAJOR LABELS
LOS ANGELES, May 11, 2004 – Sony Computer Entertainment's announcement of the music-based Universal Media Disc (UMD), a format which is used in PSP players, has already garnered interest among major music companies. UMD will enable music companies to release full-length albums featuring audio content, innovative video footage, and other compelling programming. The format can also be used for full-length concerts and music video compilations.
